Why I went back twice
This is not a normal all inclusive.
I’ve stayed at Hotel Xcaret Arte twice, and I’d go back a third time without hesitating. It is, genuinely, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. And I don’t say that lightly, because reviewing resorts is kind of my whole thing.
Most all inclusives blur together: a pool, a buffet, a wristband. Xcaret Arte is built around Mexican art and craftsmanship, the food is treated like part of the experience instead of an afterthought, and your stay includes access and transportation to the Grupo Xcaret parks. That completely changes what a “resort day” can look like.

The rooms and the room service
Room service that ruined every other hotel for me.
The rooms are beautiful, but the room service is what I still think about. It was incredible. And it’s worth leaving time to actually enjoy the room rather than scheduling every minute at the parks.
My tip: tell them if you’re celebrating something.
When I told the hotel we were celebrating a special occasion, they added thoughtful surprises to our room. It’s not something I can promise they’ll do every time. But in my experience, it’s absolutely worth mentioning when you book.
The food is part of the experience
Come hungry. Seriously.
The dining here is positioned as a premium culinary experience. There’s a range of restaurants and concepts rather than one big buffet on repeat. And the personal highlight I keep coming back to? The room service was incredible.
One honest note: some premium or specialty offerings may cost extra, and inclusions can change. Check what’s included with your specific rate before you book so there are no surprises.
The parks are included, and that changes everything
Your hotel key is basically a theme park pass.
Xcaret Arte’s All-Fun Inclusive concept includes access and transportation to the Grupo Xcaret parks. That means a “resort day” can turn into zip lines, underground rivers, and a night show with more than 300 performers. And then you’re back at your hotel for dinner.
Xplor: my favorite kind of chaos
At Xplor I did the amphibious vehicles (you’ll hear me call them ATVs, but they’re technically off road amphibious vehicles!), the zip lines, and swimming and rafting through underground rivers and caves lined with stalactites. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had at a “park.”
Xcaret México Espectacular
The night show at Xcaret park features more than 300 performers celebrating Mexico’s history and cultural regions. It’s huge, colorful, and genuinely moving. Plan at least one evening for it.
Not every optional add on, dinner, or experience is included, and park schedules change. Check the current All-Fun Inclusive details and park calendars for your travel dates.

Who I think will love it
- Couples and friends who want luxury with actual things to do
- Anyone celebrating something, mention it when you book
- Food lovers who are bored of the standard all inclusive buffet
- Adventure people who want parks and a beautiful resort in one trip
- Travelers age 16 and up (the resort uses adults only language but currently welcomes guests 16+)
What to know before booking
- The hotel markets itself as adults only, but it welcomes guests age 16 and up.
- The parks can make this a very active trip, so plan at least some real resort days too.
- Check current restaurant reservation requirements, park schedules, and inclusions before you go.
- Airport and park transportation are included under the current All-Fun Inclusive details, but confirm the terms for the exact rate you book.
My final verdict
Hotel Xcaret Arte is expensive. I won’t pretend otherwise. But if you’ll actually use the parks, the transportation, the food, and the resort itself, it delivers a kind of value I haven’t found anywhere else. Two stays in, it’s still the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at.
